Visit of the Dossin Castle in Mechelen Goswin de Stassartstraat 153, 2800 Mechelen (parking Tinel – Edgard Tinellaan 6, 2800 Mechelen – 300m from the Castle).

The Dossin Gallery is located in the centre of Mechelen. Renowned architect Bob Van Reeth designed the museum building as a monument to the city. The official opening took place on September 4, 2012.

This museum was built on a symbolic site, where the detention centre for Jews and Roma during the Second World War was located, opposite the Dossin barracks. From there, trains would go to the concentration camps at Auschwitz-Birkenau.

We offer a guided tour of the permanent exhibition. You will find a lot of information about the persecution of Jews, Roma and Sinti during the Second World War in Belgium.

After the visit (around 2h) we are expected at 12:30pm at: Puro Restaurant Guldenstraat 20, 2800 Mechelen (Q-Park Lamot, Guldenstraat 18, 2800 Mechelen – below the restaurant).
